Samsung Launches New Internet Free Phone To Help Students Focus On Their Studies

Samsung has announced the launch of a new smartphone aimed at students that cannot connect to the internet.

The Galaxy J2 Pro has all the basic functions of a phone and can be used to text, call and take photos – but there is no Wi-Fi or 3G or 4G.

The internet-free device, which is currently only available in South Korea, will allow students to focus on studying without the distractions that come from browsing the internet and engaging in social media.

It comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.

Also included are an FM radio, a DioDic4 English dictionary app, a calculator and a calendar app.

It features a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, and a 2,600mAh replaceable battery. The device also has a microSD slot for additional storage.

J2 Pro comes in two colours – black and gold – and costs around 200,000 won (£133).

Samsung is running a promotion for students between the ages of 18 and 21 taking the College Scholastic Ability Test – a college-entrance exam in South Korea – where they can trade in the phone for a Galaxy S, Note, or an A-series phone and have the cost of the J2 Pro reimbursed after the test.
