Netflix “Quincy” Trailer Features Appearances From Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre & More

Quincy Jones is one of the, if not the most, important producers in the history of music. With a career spanning over six decades, he’s worked alongside Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra and many, many more. At this point, it’s surprising that there hasn’t already been a documentary about his life. In August, his daughter Rashida Jones announced that she’ll be directing his documentary. With the doc set to drop in the coming weeks, Netflix has released the first trailer for it.

The trailer for Netflix’s “Quincy” has arrived and it features appearances from some of the biggest names in not only music but pop culture. Lady Gaga, Paul McCartney, Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Barack Obama, Will Smith and many more make appearances in the trailer. Both Dre and Kendrick praise Q for influencing their craft. Dre refers to Quincy as his “ultimate mentor and inspiration.” Kendrick Lamar credits him for being the first person to introduce the combination hip hop and jazz.

“Quincy” doesn’t strictly focus on his musical accolades but also some of the issues he faced throughout his life. At one point, he speaks openly about his desire to be a gangster while growing up in Chicago during the Depression.
